Now here comes the big question, what form of meditation should you use and how much are you willing to pay for it?
Recently I looked into some of the local classes being taught at the school and parks in my area and found them to be very expensive. One day a week for six weeks are now going for an average $90.00 and they are not drawing in the people. Some of the classes are including Yoga. The ones that offer Transcendental Meditation are even more expensive.
I stop in at a Adult center and found they were offer they classes for a small donation.
Sometimes you have to wait for the instructor to give you a special mantra to chant in silence. Some require you to buy extra item to bring to the class.
Very few places offer just a simple Guided Meditation.
I offered this type of class and was told that there is no room on their schedule for that type of class.
Maybe I should charge more or give it a unique name to get the Schools interested in them. I know the students had no problem dealing with it.
A few years ago I taught a Guided Meditation class at the local city park. I had a no problem filling the room and I was not charging very much for my time. I was more interested in teaching and seeing the results in my students.
The center told me my class was not appropriate and they decided to remove it.
Yet the follow year there was another Meditation class that had replaced my class. They were charging twenty dollars more for only 6 weeks, plus a material fee. This went on for three seasons. Each season the class was canceled because of low attendance. Now they are offering a Yoga Meditation class. I’m not sure if that one will work out because the fall class hasn’t started yet.
From my point of view Meditation is great for relaxing and reflecting on how our bodies react to all the tension and stress it has to go through every moment of the day.
Learning how to breathe correctly and allow ourselves to relax and become stress free is one of benefits of Meditation.
Sometimes you can work through the issues that come up causing upsetting thoughts that they pop up in there minds that disturb your sleep.. Create headaches and many other health problems.
I guess it doesn’t really matter what you choose to practice as long as you do something that will help you relax and become stress free.
Sometimes just taking the dog out for a walk can create a great deal of peace.
